Ms. Laurent is a partner and founder of Alliance Counsel. She has over twelve years of experience as in-house counsel in the technology sector, external advisor to businesses, and in private practice serving clients in traditional, technology, renewable energy and sustainability practices industries.

Prior to forming Alliance Counsel, Ms. Laurent served as the Director of Legal Affairs for Everdream Corporation. This role included acting as chief in-house counsel and a member of its senior management team, managing the legal aspects of the technology company’s business. She assisted in the completion of two rounds of private equity funding, a $15 million debt facility and the later buy-out of that facility; negotiated and documented the company’s enterprise solution sales, technology license and distribution agreements, and its infrastructure and technology procurement agreements; advised the company with respect to employment law and regulatory compliance, intellectual property matters, other general contractual matters and litigation management.

In addition to her Alliance Counsel practice, Ms. Laurent is currently of counsel to the San Francisco law firm of Drummond & Associates, in its complex commercial litigation practice. Before joining Everdream in May 2000, Ms. Laurent was Senior Associate at the former litigation firm of Lukens and Drummond. There she acted as the primary associate attorney in complex litigation matters relating to contract disputes, antitrust laws, unfair business practices claims, environmental regulation, insurance claims, real estate financing and securities litigation.

Ms. Laurent received her J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center in 1995. During her studies at Georgetown, she served as clerk to the National Association of Broadcasters in their capacity as legal advisors and advocates for the radio and television broadcast industry, and authored a legal reference for the Association's members. Ms. Laurent completed her undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she graduated with honors with a B.A. in journalism in 1992. Ms. Laurent is licensed to practice law in California and Maryland.
